A hushed feeling. Many globes of soft light, clustering.

“Angel, show thyself that I may know thee.” Eyes open in the floating spheres: many, many. They are all around. A scent like flowers; a feeling of compassionate interest and attention.

“What is thy office concerning me?” Many voices. We love you and are concerned with your happiness, for it is fragile like all created things, and we would see it firmly established in the uncreated that you may be washed and brought up to the place of many feasts. A platform in the sky, like a heavenly cocktail party.

“Angel, how is this possible?” Let your earthly concerns be like a stalk of grass that is cut down and returns quickly to the air and earth. Be you as the seed that falls whose reason is beyond itself. Sleep heals and redeems the waking mind and brings comfort. The eyes close, and I see a tiny microcosm inside each sphere, as if from many angles. Take what is beyond you and let it fill you; and what is inside will be enriched and redeemed not by a thing but by the continual opening to the truth and contemplation thereof in your heart, that you may act as if by the will of god, without calculation, for it is infinite and NOW.

“What do I need to know about religion?” There is no space between truth and the perception of truth and the embodiment of truth; do not be decieved by those who make vain temples in their words and say, Only here–for the Logos is in everything, and open to the one who asks and opens themself to recieve  Do not get caught by what has been: it is true for you no longer, but seek the living moment, and whatsoever you turn toward will open to you the truth and message of the Gods.

“What message for those who talk to angels?” Take courage, and be refreshed on your way: the holy ones sustain your work and are pleased by your persistence. With each prayer you come closer to the emptiness which holds the living truth, and become larger in your capacity to understand, which is a matter of the heart. Let the words flow, and let them go, and in the gap between will open the fulness of your desire. It is easy like breathing. We love you, for you are becoming like us, and we like you, and this is the wheel that draws souls out of formlessness and returns them.

Second Invocation, June 2023

The incense smoke pour forth in my mind’s eye and is interpenetrated with streams of light, and a sense of many small lights coming close about me, more and more, dissolving through my edges and breaking down what is dark and heavy within me.

“Angel, show yourself that I may know you.” A being of light stands behind me, drawing me to lean back into it, enfolding me in waves of curling light and comfort. It is a great pleasure to surrender.

“Angel, what is your message for me at this time?” _Give yourself over to your salvation, which is the death of what you have clung to and the rebirth of the free-flowing spirit. Let go._ I exhale and feel my spirit lifting slightly above my body, and suddenly the room is filled with bodies of light, many many many, who touch me all over. Some are using rod-like tools. My body shakes and convulses, in a feeling like intense ecstasy observed from a place of calm; moments of relaxation, then more convulsions. This goes on for some time, as the angel and the others are drawing upward from my spine a cord of light, and shaping it into a sphere, in which all the shapes of my life can be seen.

_Bear this one unto the heavens and the halls of the ancestors, that they may see and understand the seat of their salvation._ I see a long concourse lit with ranks of lamps like stars, and am borne along in a great crowd of beings who support me: I recognize beings from dreams, ancestors, angels, even monstrous things now darkly luminous. I am taken, formless, before a great door, and the angel strikes the ground three times, saying Holy Holy Holy, and the doors open to reveal a scene of glory, a temple that is a living garden with many beings. Before me sits a great Judge who is like a sphinx, having the body of a lion, the bearded face of a man, the wings of an eagle, the breast of a woman, and a scorpion’s tail.

I am vaguely aware of my physical body, slumped nerveless, as the ball of light that is my body now is placed between the great beast’s paws. I feel something like trepidation. The beast draws me to its breast, and says, _You have blended light and dark, and dared the gates of heaven by ways of magic and twilight. It is well, for this is according to your nature. And where you have given pain, it is ascribed to me, who made you; and where you have given good service and made yourself an offering, it is imputed to you by means of grace, for the growth of your soul. Yet your work is not done, nor may you dwell in the gardens appointed for your rest—for what is yet dark in you calls to the flesh, and draws you to the body._

_Therefore return according to your nature and be comforted: for the gods redeem their children, and grant you death here that you may have life in the world of the flesh, for your growth—and death there, that you may return and be made whole. Go with the grace of the gods, and remember that as you were made, so is the law by which you are judged: and this is given to each differently, and judgment is retained by the gods. Therefore fear not to live fully, delighting in life, nor give heed to those who would lead you from your nature, which is a seed growing unto this garden, and the ends thereof are mystery, and holy beyond these heavens. I confirm you for the spirit you are: go forth and live._

I am returned fully to my body, with a feeling of peace and eagerness to meet what may come.
