He serves as a cure for maladies and to obtain the mercy of God.  This angel rules over health and long life; he influences paternal and filial love, and the obeisance and respect of children for their parents.

The negative side of this angel is called Terre Morte or Terre Damnee following the expression of Eteilla, in his Philosophy of High Sciences, He is the most cruel and treacherous of all; he influences infanticides and parricides.

FIRST CONVERSATION

Contact begins with a sense of a rough, strong, masculine presence and an enclosed space. It is almost palpably silent.

“Angel, show yourself so I may know you.” I see a very old, bearded man, but still powerfully built, sitting on a stone throne in an empty, stone hall. On its lap, a young child is playing. The figure is very still, though the child is active and pulls on its beard.

“Angel, what is your office concerning me?”[Silence, then a rumbling, deep voice. I come to make you still, so you may see how your garden grows. Be slow and patient. Wait.

I wait, and eventually the scene begins to change. The child is growing older. It is sometimes male and sometimes female. Eventually the child climbs down from the older figure’s lap and begins to explore the hall, returning briefly, only to venture out ever farther. Eventually, now grown, the child approaches the throne, bows in respect, and leaves the hall and is gone. After some time, green things begin to grow in the cracks of the stone, and eventually the roof falls in, showing a starry sky.

The hall crumbles to ruin, and a forest grows up around the unmoving figure, who seems to be growing slowly younger. When they are in their prime, a beautiful being enters the grove, sits on their lap, and begins to make love to them, wantonly and without shame. They paint the still-unmoving figure with their combined juices, feed them from their breast and groin, then place a crown of leaves on their head and depart, bearing a baby in their womb. The figure, now androgynous, continues growing younger and smaller, until it is a baby. The throne it has been sitting on is now visible–it is an old woman, with the baby on its lap, who is seated on another throne decorated with lions.

Meanwhile, many other figures have entered the grove and are clearing brambles and erecting first a circle of stones, then an enclosure, then a stone temple around the throne with the old woman and child. They depart, and the old woman holds the child to her breast as it shrinks to the size of a tiny seed and disappears into her.

Finally the throned figure stands up. They are now old and young, male and female, and they begin to dance before the throne slowly and deliberately. With each step the world around them changes, blending the city and the wild at once. The feeling is peaceful and very alive. Eventually, I become aware that I am watching, and the figure beckons to me to approach, and embraces me. It feels amazing, and I notice my cares falling away in the comfort of their arms.

“Angel, how may I be a better parent to my children?” Be true to yourself, seeking neither praise nor validation, and you will receive both in the time to come. You are like a throne or an empty hall to them: They will not see you until they have gone forth and returned. By the depth and height of your own reaching their world is made larger; in your presence it is made stable and secure. Watch them, and do not judge, for how they grow and to what end is beyond your knowing.

“What message do you have for those who talk to angels?” Remember the name of your first father and the face of your first mother, which were before the world: then you may be free of the troubles of your human ancestors, and give honor without need or grasping, fear or anger, to those ones who bore and begat you into time. You do this for yourself, and for the generations that come after, and so that your ancestors may find fulfillment in the lives of their descendants, which are fruit of their own tree, and beyond their dreaming. Do not turn yourself against those who have gone before, whatever their faults, but grow beyond them and thus redeem them: and so shall your faults be redeemed in the worlds to come.

SECOND CONVERSATION

Contact begins with the image of a falling star and the cry of a child. I am shown a sort of creche scene in the interior of a small clay room lit by a small fire. A naked woman holds her newborn baby; wrapped around her is a being like a dragon, whom I associate with the falling star and the Watchers. The woman and the dragon being speaking or singing together. This is their song. (For what it’s worth, I think this was scene was shown me by Rehael, rather than being a vision of Rehael per se.)

What was one is sundered and separated.

The child comes forth from the mother

The power has gone forth from the father

And dwells in the world.

We name it Sol [Soul? Sole?] for it is alone in itself now. Though the mother and father would hold it close, yet it is grown already beyond them, and its face will be set against them for a time, according to the law of freedom which is from the beginning.

O, this separation, woe and desolation! The course of a star in the heavens is dark and cold, and its weight rests heavy upon it, and every being that comes forth carries itself, and heavy is its weight that it might grow strong.

O joy, to bring forth, to give! O sorrow and heartache, that are the harvest of the mother and father when their child remembers them not and is far from them! And we like children have gone far from the heavens that begat us, and have forgotten the mother which bore us, and our generations after us go far from us and forget our names.

O remember us, descendant of our descendants, remember, ye humans, the heavens that begat us and the earth that bore us, and be redeemed in remembrance. We remember with you, turning and returning. What is made separate for its growth does not outgrow its roots, and it returns as a ripe fruit falling returns to earth, returns as the spirit rises above the body to remember its source. We return as the rain from the ocean replenishes its wellsprings, as the ocean is renewed by the rivers that come from rain.

O Lord and Lady of eternal return, you have received your children again into your bosom; so return our children to us, in their generations, grown strong in their wanderings! Let all hurt be healed in reunion. O heavens, we remember and return to you; O Earth, we give our bodies back to you, and in your union are reborn, coming forth from thee once more.

Holiness to the Whole, and to every sundered part, and forgiveness to all who part ways. They go in peace, for the gods gather their children again to themselves, and what was lost to us is found in the Gods, and the lonely stars no longer wander in their wheeling but dance in great circles. Let the heavy hearts come home and lay down their burdens; all is forgiven. Thus it is and has been, is and shall be, now and forever, Amen.
