יֹיֹזָאֵל YoYoZaEL / Ieiazel

Influence time and dates: 13:01 – 13:20, October 5 through 9. He rules over the following five days: April 28, July 9, September 19, November 30, February 10. The invocation is done from 1:00 pm till 1:20 pm.

IEIAZEL. His attribute is God, Delight of the Living. His ray commences from the 196th degree up to the 200th degree inclusive, corresponding to the twentieth decade and to the angel called Aterchinis.

The psalm has marvelous properties; it gives consolation and serves to deliver prisoners and to be delivered from one’s enemies.

This angel rules over printing and libraries; they influence people of letters and artists. The person born under this influence will love speaking, design, and all sciences in general.

The negative side of this angel rules over all evil qualities of the body and soul; he influences somber spirits and those who flee society.

FIRST CONVERSATION

During the repetition of the veriscle, I felt tingles moving up my spine and across my shoulders and a catch in my heart–echoes of eloi eloi lama sabacthani, or the Mormon concept of the voice of the Holy Spirit as “a burning in the bosom,” and the heartache and yearning that was, for most of my life, a main path to the divine–the feeling of being “enflamed in  prayer.” After a quiet minute, the presence of the angel gathered like a thickness in the air and a mist in my peripheral vision.

“Angel, show yourself that I may know you.” High, tonal singing, and a sense of growing tension in the air. Then a flashing image of a tall, flowing, shrouded, faintly luminescent figure bearing a lantern.

“Angel, what is your office concerning me?” Contact is mostly verbal, in a clear voice, with tiny flashes of imagery to elucidate meanings. At first it feels like a general message, almost like a formal introduction, then proceedes to a more personal message.

Be free of fear and grieving, let your heart rejoice. I bear you tidings of joy: for your prayers are heard and the Lord and Lady turn their face in clemency. Your body is no longer a prison for your soul–now let your thoughts and the desires of your heart also open their doors, and constrain them not, for as a bird under heaven so shall you have been. Wish fully and freely, speak boldly and with full assent to your words.

This is not a test, but a mandate: Do not deny the witness that is in thee to those who watch for the words of the ones who have seen and returned. The time has come for you to lift up the light that comes to thy angel, and let it come upon the faces of those who turn toward toward your voice, and over the heads of those who turn away. Your truth is needed in the world of humans so that the tale [tally?] may be complete.

“Angel, how shall I bring forth the work that is in me?” Make a book with thine own hands, and draw therein the figures and the signs, and mark it with the seal of your name, and send it forth. First shall be the book of prayers, and others will follow. And as thou doest this, do not hold back thy new thinkings and the words that come, but let them be seen and heard. It is not required that they be perfect, only that they are your own. In this you will find freedom from the doubt that besets you, and the prison of your own mind. The gates are open; go forth.

“What message for those who talk to angels?” Do not doubt the truth of what you experience, or seek by analysis to find meaning beyond it, but let your prayers and your sayings be plain and clear, and their truth will be witnessed in the hearts of the hearers, and your psalms will be sweet among the hosts.

After several moments of silence, it’s clear the angel is still on the line, so I ask for a blessing and guidance in my livelihood, which is in publishing and so under the angel’s bailiwick. Normally I’d omit it as unlikely to be widely applicable, but given the angel’s directive to not hold back my witness, I’m including it here.

The angel’s lamp is lifted up over a page of handwritten text, whose letters turn to gold and float over the page, then start rearranging themselves deliberately, forming a crystalline structure in resonance with other sheets of gold characters. As the crystal becomes more perfect, it begins to emit a high tone like the one I heard at the beginning of the vision. When the tone is clear and beautiful, they stop moving and sink back onto the page, which changes into a golden coin something like a communion wafer [note: I’m not Catholic and have never taken communion with wafers; in my Mormon childhood, we used plain bread.] The angel holds the coin to my lips, and the vision ends suddenly.

SECOND CONVERSATION

Contact begins with a sound like hushing a baby. My mind falls silent, and I hear a bird outside whose song echoes the tones of the versicle.

“Angel, show thyself, that I may know thee.” A sudden brightness, and the silhouetted figure of a person in a tailcoat from behind. They are on a stage of some sort, and before them a vast crowd of beings, in rows and balconies, of many sizes and shapes; they come from countless worlds. The figure stands in silence, and the crowd is silent. Then the figure begins to speak, softly; I am listening from backstage, among curtains, and their speech is strange to me; but it takes on the tones of a song, and from the figure extend streamers of light that dance into the audience and enter their eyes and ears. As the speech and song grow in intensity, so does the light, until the figure’s entire being is given to the brilliance, evaporating into the audience; and at last their coat falls empty to the stage, and the hall falls silent; and now the faces of the audience are glowing.

Then, with a roar like thunder, the light beams back, thousands of rays converging on the empty stage, and where they focus they blend and mingle, and the figure of the performer is reborn from the light, naked now and exceedingly beautiful, with many wings and faces and every feature perfect, human and more than human. The audience and the singer reflect back to each other the light in an exchange that is both silence and song, like countless beings making love in perfect harmony—-until my mind is flooded with brilliance. Then, suddenly, darkness and thunderous applause, and as the singer returns offstage, toward me, I see their original face: It is human, nothing remarkable, just a person with a flush of sweat on their brow. They smile and say to me,

Go thou and do likewise, whatever your art. It is good to give completely, and to release what is treasured up. I have given you direction [this regarding instructions in our last conversation, of which this record is a part] and the angels have had you in their tutelage. Do not stint to share what has come to you: It does not belong to you, but comes through you for the blessing of others, that you may rejoice in communion, and in the fellowship of those who love what the gods bring forth in you, as you are restored by what comes forth in them. Fear not, but face your work and the glory of that great song of which you are a part.
