Haiel report: Contact began with an image I recognize mostly from the movie _Hero_, a tragic kung fu epic I once loved–the Hall of Supreme Harmony in Beijing. The courtyard is packed with countless humans and … other-than-humans… in their ranks and files. Animals parade by by the thousands, birds by the millions. Rivers of life teem before the steps of the palace. The throne is empty.

“Angel, show thyself that I may know thee.” [A lone figure stands in a wide plain of dry, golden grass. I can see their clothes clearly–natural linen wrappings, like a monk or a traveler–but the figure itself remains undefined no matter how much I try to see, just the suggestion of a shape. Not even an emptiness. They are holding a single drop of water; it contains galaxies. I get a sense of sadness and deep love and self-imposed duty.]

“Angel, what is thy office concerning me?” [A voice, clear and gentle and impossible to ignore:] _There is nothing more to see, or do, but this: to watch, and love, and tend to what you love. You are free from your labor, for there is none to command you against your will, nor any who can oppose what is in your right sovereignty._

_Yet you are subject unto this law, by which even the Great Ones abide for their power, that as you choose, so you are, and as you love, you will become, and what you were shall seem strange to you._

_Let this be your comfort: that neither heaven nor earth shall deny you, when you come to them in need, and with a clear spirit, and in truth. For these are mother and father to you and to the gods._

_I speak to you what you know already, nor as one who commands do I speak to you, but as one who knows your heart, and is sure of their word. So I say, you are greatly blessed; I say, through you others are blessed. Your task is no weight or burden, though to another it would be so: but you are made for the work of your spirit, and it is joy to you. Even in sorrow shall you be lifted up, now and evermore, and the armies of heaven attend you._

_Go then to the world, and declare what you have seen: and those who have ears to hear and hearts that seek after god will find their way, even as you have done; for this was decreed before you were born, and the path laid out before your first parents, and it is open to all. Nor are you alone, for many are they who have walked with you, and before and behind you: As one among countless multitudes, what you say and see and know and do is seen and known and done by a power beyond your own._

_Do not therefore think that you are honored for yourself, but in the honor that you give. And for this reason is the throne empty: for the spirit dwells in all things, and holds sway in every heart. Even in the heart of them that commit evil, saying there is no god, or good: yet their own heart gives them life, and speaks its truth, and sustains them beyond their knowing. So say I, who am but a servant in the house of the gods, as you also serve._

[Silence for a long period. The image and presence remains, very still.]

“Angel, how is it possible for the humans, as a whole, to know this peace?” _It is enough that you know it, and others: and of your peace is made the thread and the pattern which shall clothe the earth in days to come: and already the end of war is at hand, for the true master dwells among the people; though they have forgotten, yet they awake, and remember still._

[Note: in many ways, this felt like a summation and debriefing for my experience with the 72 this year. I wonder, what message might the final angel have?]

Second invocation, 3/14/2024

An image arises: a wide field, bare, but with greet shoots springing up. They grow as I watch; they come up singing praise for the sun and the rain, the dark earth, the wide sky. A lush garden arises, full of fruits—melons, corn, beans, potatoes, all good things. The fruits split apart, and a great multitude of people, and animals, and birds come forth, and they also say, _Glory to the life which bore us and brought us up, which feeds us and gives us strength._

I see the people flourishing, and hosts of angels descending around them, for their instruction. They grow clever, and make all manner of wonderful things, and raise up cities and temples. And then, from their opulence, they say, _Are we not like unto gods? And who shall master us?_ They grow proud, and no longer gave praise, and they waged war on the beasts and drove them back, and laid waste the fields, so that monstrous things arose among them: and they make wars and every abomination. And still the angels descend, and minister to the people, though few hear them, for their hearts are hardened and their eyes blind on account of the wickedness they conceived.

But among those who listened to the angels were noble and bright souls, and their prayers rose up as incense, and they prayed thus, and the angels with them: _O gods, show yourselves in might, that the world may remember you, and be redeemed! And who is the master of all? And how shall the keeper be commanded? Let us therefore fear the Lord, and with awe approach the Lady who ruleth in heaven and earth, giving with our hands and voices. For who shall help us in our distress, if not they who created us? And who shall be our refuge and our defense? O Lord, even thou whose power the winds obey and before whom the earth is shaken like a drum—even thou who lit the lamp of the sun and pours forth the rain, and before whose face the stars of heaven hold up their torches? And who is our succor but thou, O Lady, for whose love the angels fall, yea, even unto us who are born of earth, that we may be lifted up?_

And at their prayer, I saw that it was done as they said: the sun was darkened and the earth shook, the sea rose up, and the storms beat upon the land, and shattered the cities and the false temples, and the wicked trembled and were afraid, and their strength failed them so that the weapons fell from their grasp, and they cried, _Woe unto us! For our cities are wasted, and it is our hand that hath done it! Our hearts have become the lair of monsters, and it is we who have begotten them, in our vain imaginings.

But amid the storm and wailing, I heard a still, small voice, which spoke from the very dust: _It is I who have done these things; yea, I the Lord, the servant of all: for I made the unbeliever and the wicked, and bring about that which must be, for the tempering of all things. It is at my will that they grow strong, and it is my strength they know in themselves, and think to be their own; and it is I who humble them. My ends are sure and will not be forestalled. And this is my work: to raise unto the ages and eternity the spirits of the children of earth, that they too shall be gods. So they must know strength, and be humbled, and know justice and mercy both, that they may learn love. This is my wisdom, that in their freedom they shall forget me and find me again, and learn mastery, and remember again how to give praise, whose lips have been given to vain words. For they must serve, not as slaves, but of their choice and in their strength. So shall a few serve in every generation, but in time all the earth will remember—and by their own works, which are mine, they shall be redeemed in the days to come, even in all their generations._

_Therefore, be ye even as you are made, and keep well your stewardship and that place appointed to you, that you may be counted among the hosts of them that are whole beyond death, and who partake of my peace._
